My Wallpaper Won’t Come Off
If you’re ready for a new look, and you currently have wallpaper, read carefully. Removing wallpaper isn’t an easy task and can take up a lot of time. This tedious process can be messy, frustrating, and may even feel near impossible to accomplish. Read the tips below to get started and if you still need help, we recommend hiring a painting professional such as American Painting and Design.
Start From The Top
If possible, start using the top layer. Typically, if the wall was primed correctly, the old wallpaper will be easy to remove. However, if you find yourself stuck, then an unprimed drywall is the cause.
Your wallpaper simply isn’t coming off with the tools you have. Our recommendation is soaking the wall with water. Perhaps using a pressure washer at a very low speed and pressure. If not, applying warm or hot water will do the trick. This will dampen the glue that's sticking on. Use a paint scraper to separate the wallpaper from the wall and be careful not to damage the wall.
What Tools Do I Need?
Make your wallpaper removal job more efficient using the proper tools. We recommend having the following tools available before you get started:
Metal spatula with rounded corners
